With my Professional Imaging class last week, I shot a series of still life set-ups….in pitch black. But with a small flashlight, I was able to imitate the styles of Dave Black and Caryn Esplin, who are well-known for their light painting photography. By using quick strokes of a flashlight and a long exposure time, I light up only some parts of the objects. I love doing light painting! I think it has kind of a mysterious look, don’t you? I hope you enjoy some of the photos!
Indoor Light Painting:
All of these photographs were taken with a 30” exposure and ISO set at 100. The setting was f/11.0 for all except the neon ice cubes :) they were shot at f/6.3.
Casey! These turned out beautifully! I especially love your creativity on the ice cube sparkle shot. So gorgeous! You have such a great talent for catching unique angles and fascinating images! Keep up the awesome work!
